Green is superior.

Things that are Green; well let's see there's me, the rest of my family and this 'ere new look blog. I was bored of the old layout so decided to pick a newbie. It's got birds and everything. I like them, in my mind I picture them flying about on the page and tweeting like little birdies should do. We should all strive to be greener, I couldn't be greener if I tried :)

This weekend was one I would quite frankly rather forget, let's just pick out the best parts -

Pompey drew 2-2 with Leeds which wasn't the worst result, even if we were winning twice. The Fratton park flood lights were not serving their purpose and went off twice during play. Annoying to say the least and afterwards I read somebody had posted on twitter "Do they film 'Take me out' at Fratton park? They had lights going off everywhere." Made me chuckle! No Lighty, No Footy.

I went out for a curry at the Indian Palace with Jay, Willington and Pete at 6:30. Then we went to see 127 Hours at the cinema. The Curry was okay but the service wasn't great took over 45 minutes for food to come and then the fire alarm went off twice literally piercing my ear drums. The only course of action to combat the fire was to open a side door which let in minus temp air - lovely! I hate to be the one to complain but then I found none other than a BRUSSEL SPROUT in my curry. Really?! First time i've ever encountered one in there, must have been a sale on Christmas veg! Safe to say I will not be going there again in a hurry. Nice bhaji's though.

We headed to Odeon to see 127 Hours, a film that I was pretty excited to see. The hacking arm off with a blunt knife scene wasn't even as bad as some people were making out. I was getting ready to stare elsewhere or to hide my face entirely but coupled together with the rest of the story it was compelling to say the least. Pretty gross when he pulled the tendon out but hey he clearly valued his life enough to actual hack off his arm. In all honestly I don't think I could have done it, but then again he probably thought that too. The worst bit for me was witnessing him drink his own pee. Something nobody wants to see. Bleurgh. I really liked that the actual Aron Ralston was in the film at the end. Such a remarkable story.

I was so tired all weekend and right now i'm sort of on the verge of falling asleep too ha! Will be eating such delights as jerk chicken at Jay's tonight. Looking forward to it, we haven't had marinated chicken mondays in ages! Hoorah!

Can't wait for Friday, it's pay day, it's the weekend and Dawne and I are going out for drinks with some of her work buddies. Plus! Saturday should be the booking of our holiday to the US of A! Woohoo! Can't wait to go back and i'm already thinking of NYC for next year. By then there will be two teeny babies in the fam, so excited to meet them! Especially after meeting baby Esmé yesterday. Nat looked really well and Esmé is the cutest!

Definitely the longest i've held a baby without him/her crying!

Yesterday I went to lunch at Nando's with Tins and Bec, a nice catch up and then we popped to Nat's to visit her and the beautiful bubba :) Spent the evening at Jay's and then crashed in bed by 9:30! found it difficult to get to sleep though, finally managed it around midnight. *yawn*

Now the Monday Blues (Official term!) have been lurking all day, thinking of going to see Millie Dog after work, perhaps take her for a walk if I can get out of here at 4:30.

Back to the drawing board peeps!

Cwoffee!

I realise I went to New York back in September with the famous Dawne D but as she quite rightly pointed out I never did an exceptional blog about it. Considering it was pretty much the best holiday ever ever EVER I am very ashamed I didn't actually write a masterpiece on it.

So here goes...

We'd been looking forward to it for months beforehand and were super excited to be flying Virgin because 1) i'd only ever flown pretty budget except for BA to NYC many moons ago and 2) Dawne had never flown further than Spain or some-ting. D stayed over at mine the night before and we were up at 3:30am to get going! Said goodbye to Mother and my snoring Father and off we went. Was a pretty harmless drive to Heathrow even though it was raining some what, wouldn't be missing this weather! We checked in pretty harmlessly (Is that even a word? It is now.) and headed to find food. We paid about £17 for food which was extortionate but I got over it pretty quickly because I WAS ON HOLIDAY and when you're on holiday you can do crazy shit like spent £17 on breakfast. Eggs on toast and a glass of apple juice. Seems fair don't you think? It was lush to be fair.

We boarded the plane to find a complimentary blanket laid out for us on our seats, an individual TV screen where you could watch over 50 movies, listen to 100's of songs and many TV shows. You could even use a remote to message a person in another seat...if this was economy I seriously would love to know how First Class is! Probably some gold plated seat with champers coming from all angles. There wasn't as much space as i'd have liked but I was so pre-occupied with the service and the movies that I really didn't care that much. The only thing that was bothering me is the lady in front thinking it was okay to ram her seat as far back as she could so I was practically watching TV laying down. Food came and any normal person would resume the upright position but noooo! In the end I waited til she got up and went to the loo and pinged it back in place myself. No harm done. We had an array of treats on the plane, a good meals, a chocolate brownies and then later on a packet of love hearts?! Awesome! I passed the time by watching Kick Ass, Cemetary Junction, half of SATC2 and some Family Guy.

We landed in NYC and joined the long queue to actual get in to the country. We had to provide all 10 finger prints and an picture. Safety first! Real strict about using phones in the airport even though one girl thought it was best to ignore all announcement and carrying on tapping on her blackberry. Really wanted to slap her upside the head alas I refrained. We grabbed our cases, no damage and headed out to the taxi rank. $50 straight fee to get to our hotel. (Well, I say hotel, use that term loosely, more on that later.) I was excited to see the big city, however we boarded the taxi and it became clear that we may not get to actual see the big city because there was a high possibility we could perish in the taxi ride there. Our driver was an absolute maniac and a freakin' rude one at that. After pretty much everybody beeping him the whole way into the city centre I honestly thought for a moment he was just kidnapping us and taking us to a far far away drug house or something. I was relieved when we arrived outside East 73rd and York Ave apartments! We paid him our cash and the boot was open, so I sort of stood there, and decided instead of wasting time i'll just get my mahousive suitcase out myself. So heavy I just dropped it on the pavement at which point he says "If you had given me a tip I would have helped you". Well sorry mate but where I come from you tip a guy for the service, if you haven't yet provided the service how the bleedin' 'eck am I suppose to tip you?! I was fuming so I just legged it across the road with D in tow and then began the task of trying to actually get in the apartment. There was a dodgy phone that we didn't quite know how to use (we're not totally retarded that we don't know how to use a regular phone but this was NOT a regular phone, ok!)Whilst trying to figure out how to get in, we read a sign on the door which said that the building was basically liable to fall down at any moment. Awesome. Some bloke let us in, in the end and we paid our moneys and got the keys. It was conveniently on the 3rd floor of a building with no lifts to I dragged my lump of a suitcase up a spiralesque rickety staircase! We checked out our room, opening all the doors to see what's behind them as you do. Kitchen, Check. Bathroom, Check. Loo, Check. Bedroom, check. Spanish people in other bedroom, Check. WAIT WHAT. Apparently we were sharing our apartment with 2 spanish people. Ola! There was a computer in the kitchen which was handy to facebook mumma and the rest of the crew! It was all going swimmingly until we spotted a sign on the door which said that we were under no circumstance to let anybody in who didn't have a key. Why? Because criminals often pose as police to gain access to your room! Upper East Side, not as good as it's made out to be!

So after briefly going a bit insane that we'd either be a)kidnapped b) robbed or c) killed we headed straight out to the sight that is Times Square. Jumped in a cab and we soon realised we had pretty much the coolest driver ever! We heard stories of all the famous people he'd had in his taxi and about all the places he'd been, very interesting and he was very sympathetic about the rude taxi driver we previous encountered! We stood in the middle of Times Square and just sort of stared around having outer body experiences. Didn't quite know what was happening all we knew was we'd left Portsmouth at 5am and now it was 2pm in the afternoon but it was 7pm in England, we're stood in the middle of all these lights, with 1000's of other people going about their daily business. WHAT! Highly confused and not knowing what to do we took comfort in something we both knew - Planet Hollywood. The waiter was very over the top - totally loved it! We both had a pizza which was yum, something tastes better about eating pizza in New York City. After we'd finished there we just roamed around for a bit until we admitted defeat and had to actual sleep. Kept waking up more or less every hour at 4am I decided sod it and had a play on the computer. Went back to sleep about 6 and were ready and waiting to get what most girls love - SHOPPING! Yipppeeee!!

We shopped for a total of NINE HOURS. I honestly do not know how I was standing at the end of it. American Eagle Outfitters is a sweeeeeet shop, loved it! We walked around the 3 story M&M shop and just genuinely went mental with money and buying a load of immense products from various shops that we didn't need! We ate in Bubba Gump Shrimp which was my favourite meal of the whole holiday, so so good! Mischa, our waitress was such a doll, she drew us an ice cream cone on our receipt :) such a lovely lady, the whole BGS experience was amazing and we got to take home our glasses! Sadly Dawns cracked in her suitcase on the way home bad times :(
Every now and then we had to take a pit stop on the Times Square steps. The same steps that Jay Z and Alicia Keys filmed Empire State of Mind! I made the mistake of wearing flip flops which quickly gave me a blister so we embarked on a mission to find new shoes. Found some pretty purple converse which were so nice Dawn decided to purchase her own pair of floral ones! So with our new shoes we headed to the steps for a sit down and a chat. We were rudely interrupted by some foreign people who wants us to take their picture - can't you see we're in the middle of a diary entry!?

The next day we headed to Brooklyn Bridge and to get there we took the subway - an experience! Plus we realised getting taxi's everywhere was getting expensive! It is a blood long bridge so we went half way, took some piccys, called a few family members to tell them we were calling from the Brooklyn Bridge for the hell of it and walked back again. We watched some really awful street dancers which wouldn't allow to take pictures unless you paid them. Erm, not that desperate. We then headed to the Staten Island Ferry, at least something that didn't drain us of dollar! Walking down the road, minding our own business and we get what I can only describe as attacked by two people asking us to donate money to them to fund a 'trip' for their school. In all honesty I can think of better things to donate to but to get them off my back I gave them a dollar and was done with it. Caught up with Dawne only to discover she has parted with $20. She didn't know what has happened, I didn't know what had happened all we knew was that now she was in possession of 5 bags of Welch's Grape sweets. Sat in the Staten Island Ferry Terminal we decided we may as well eat them. After eating one we decided they were fruits from Satan so they went in the bin. Needed to cheer D up fast from losing cash and being poisoned so onto the ferry we went! It was a pleasant journey where we saw the lady herself, Statue of Liberty although it was jam packed on there so was hard to get a great view at times. We then went to Ground Zero as it was only round the corner. Had a browse round trinity church and the 9/11 memorial museum. Glad we didn't spent too much time in there, depressing much. So very sad :( We headed back to Times Square after that and had Macdonalds, had to be done! Saw a naked Elderly cowgirl woman trying really badly to cover up her sagging bits with a guitar - hideous! Whilst having a chill out on the red steps we did a video entry but only after we were invaded by a protest march of people demanding that 9/11 was a conspiracy. There was also one guy with some bagpipes which I did not get, but it's NYC seemed pretty normal.

11th September was here and we decided to get up a little later in order to not go home quite as early as we had been doing. My feet were literally shreds! We went to Ground Zero on 10th as we decided the 11th would have been ridiculously busy and we couldn't risk being in the middle of any trouble there may have been. There had been talking of burning a koran or something - best to steer clear of that! Instead we went to 5th Avenue and daydreamed about shopping at Cartier and Gucci and went to The Empire State building. Absolutely stunning views, totally breath taking!

We took lots of piccys up the ESB and I even had a picture with King Kong. He was much more soft and friendly than the films. We went on to Grand Central Station which without sounding really arty and gay had some beautiful architecture. That good feeling was bought down by a woman on the subway telling me the world was soon to end in may 2011. Way to go woman, you deluded mentalist. We headed to bloomingdales- if I lived there I would call it 'bloomies', as if it were my local alas I do not and cannot, boo. We looked around at all the stuff we couldn't afford, I got hounded by a lady who couldn't believe I didn't know who the lady was who made 'Juicy Couture' stuff. Dawne purchased a 'little Brown Bag' and for some reason could not get it into her brain that they were called this, we had variations of 'Medium Grey bag' and such. By the time we left bloomingdales I could have collapsed but I genuinely think I was numb from the horrific pain in my feet. We walked down to Central Park for a sit down in the glorious sunshine. It was the perfect setting; a man playing acoustic guitar, people around us just relaxing and few little doggies running about. Something lovely about seeing animals running about. There was a lake in front of us and the sky line of the buildings beside us - just stunning. We sat down read the New York Post and soaked up the sun.

After our chill our in Central Park we crossed over to FAO Schwarz to transformed back into the mind of a child. It is the most incredible toy shop! They had a Chewbacca made out of Lego! Can't get cooler than that.

The next day's highlights were The Rockefeller which we saw at night time and Ellen's Diner where you are literally sung to throughout your meal! Random songs from musicals or whatever sung by people dress up like they're come from the 50's. It was immense to say the least! We digested some greasy american grub and then headed to Times Square to pick up some last min souvenirs. Rockefeller was something else, seeing a similar view to Empire State but at night time with all the lights was incredible. I seriously need to go back to NYC - sooner rather than later! We also ate at Hard Rock Café in our time in NYC, we are such tourists! It was great though and we got to take home our glass again, always welcome!

Our last day was spent in the airport. Since the people who owned the apartments were a bit dodgy and hardly ever in we were worried we'd store our bags with them and they would either a) do a runner or b) not turn up when we wanted to retrieve our bags! So we took the decision to go straight to the airport at around midday. More confirmation came that most NYC taxi drivers are actually nice when the guy jumped straight out to help us with our cases. We tipped him heavily and you've never seen a man so happy, made us feel good! I think we spent a total of around 10 hours in the airport. I got so happy when our names appeared on the board and that we were on the third board out of 6 so must mean we're soon until Dawn crushed my enthusiasm by saying the other 3 boards were for arriving flights so we were in fact at the bottom. Nuts.

I honestly don't know how we passed the time but we some how managed it and we were then to say bye to the glory that is NYC. Made our way to the boarding gate only to be sat there for half an hour wondering what the frick is going on. Apparently we were waiting for none other than SAMUEL L JACKSON to get there so he could board first. I suppose it is pretty rad that Sam, (my mate) was on our plane but I went through the emotion when firstly I was excited he walked about a metre away from me, then felt angry we had to wait all that time just so he could get on before anyone else, and then finally filled with worry and fear that there may or may not be SNAKES ON MY PLANE! Ha, ha, ha no? I watched The Runaways on the way home and then tried sleeping, which didn't go well it was very stop and start. So we left at 10pm and it was pitch black. Arriving back in England 7am, bright sunshine. Just got rid of one mind fuck, and now there's a brand new one! Cheers! I have to say though, majorly worth it.

All in all the best trip with the best person for the job. Loved it, and love my bff. Bring on the festival in June and any other adventures we may encounter!

XOXO!

London's Burning

On the downside the weekend is over and i've got the Monday blues. On the upside, the weekend was probably one of the best ever!

I took a half day on Friday, and at 18:04 we were on the train to London. (Damo, Cags, me and Jayboy). Met everyone at the Travelodge Waterloo and the evening began. We travelled to Shepherds Bush to the Sufi Persian Restaurant, it was amazing! Our journey there was not so amazing - huge weirdo rasta spouting utter gubbins at the very nice lady sat next to us on the bus saying things like "You sound like a young lady but you look like a old lady", "You have very soft hands" and "Is that your girlfriend, waheeeyyy!!" to the man opposite made for a very uncomfortable journey. Only in London, aye.

We got to the Sufi, a small but busy restaurant. Dad had to have the obligatory Salad Oliveh which wasn't quite like Shirins but we made do - it was lovely all the same! We had a selection of starters and some freshly baked flatbread, sooooo good having only eaten a bag of frazzles all day. Then we just simply had the 'Sufi for 6' Caroline with her veggie whatsit and Abby has the well done Lamb so's not to upset the baby :)I can only describe it as a massive plate of MEAT. The rice was lush, the meat was lush, all in all very lush. Adam had a quality photo with 'Adam's Café', naturally and then we made our way home. We were all soooooo tired and I was asleep within minutes on a surprisingly comfy bed. Good times!

Saturday we started our day by going to EAT. on Southbank. A quick brekkie stop, a place which i'd been to before for lunch when i'd been at IBM Southbank. I will always remember it for Kevin Walkers 'Salty Dog' crisps. Jay had as he describes 'The best chocolate milk ever' so this made his morning. We then hit the IMAX cinema to watch Tron. It was nothing short of incredible. I really really REALLY enjoyed it and so did Mum, who said several times she can't believe she enjoyed it as it's not really her sort of film. It's made me want to dress up as Tron for fancy dress with a funny disc on my back if nothing else. Although to be honest it's also made me day dream about how cool it would be to pull out some sort of stick to make it into a motorcycle of sorts. What a great way to get around!

So anyway, after Tron we went up the OXO Tower and had drinks! Bumped into Sarah Way, who isn't 'Way' anymore but I don't actually know her married name....oopsy. So we had a drink with them which was lovely. Dad was adamant the tower was moving but I literally think he's just made that up in his head. We stayed up there for around an hour and then headed over to Soho to Revolution! Free cocktails all round and then 2 for 1! It was wicked except for the girl chucking up in the loo next to me. It was 6PM lady, pull yourself together! I felt mega uncomfy walking to the Spaghetti house after that :/ Got there safely though and had another immense meal. Calamari, followed by Gamberini which sounds like a dodgy footballer however, it was actually some linguine tiger prawn goodness with chilli and garlic. Hmm Mm! We popped into the Porter House in Covent Garden just after spag house and it was the busiest place ever in the world. Never felt so claustrophobic in my life. There was a cool band playing but we left at about 11:30, the girls were tired, and let's face it I was knackered! We hadn't been back to the hotel all day so I wanted to jump in the shower when we got back. A shower, a cuddle and some TV was all I was askin', but nooooo some pyro queen had to set fire to Room 208 and do a runner aye!! I'm in a towel, wet hair and the alarm starts going off. Exactly like the alarm in AGA's student halls - not something I wished to be reminded of! Alarm was intermittent so I poked my head of wet hair out of the door to see a very sleepy lady doing the same thing 2 doors down. We were all thinking the same, "Get this alarm off and let us sleep" (Or at least watch MOTD). Little did we know there was an actual fire! Lesson learnt there, never assume it's not a fire! I suppose we should have gathered that when we realised it was 1am. I chucked on a pair of jeans, shirt and a cardi. Won't bother putting a bra on, naaa we won't be out there THAT long. ONLY A SODDING HOUR! Dad stupidly didn't put any shoes on, we got outside and the full blown fire brigade are there with hoses and fire proof jackets all ready to fight the beasty fire. Damien joked that he'd set the fire off with his monopoly Iron, he actually has the offending article in his pocket, naughty! The scene was about 100 odd people stood on Waterloo Road in dressing gowns and pajamas. Dad was complaining of hypothermia or some other issue that was never going to materialise, so they pulled over a 453 bus which was not in service so we could all sit on it for warmth and semi-comfort. After a long old wait we were finally let back in and managed to get to sleep about 2:30, apparently the alarm went off again around 4am for somebody smoking in their room? Lucky for them I was in a coma so did not get out of bed to burn their eyes out with the offending stick.

After that eventful night, we left the hotel at 10:45 on Sunday and went to 'The Table' for brunch. It was dead posh and the menu looked amazing - but sadly I think I chose the wrong thing on the menu :( Bad times. All the same is was a lovely place and I would definitely go back! Jay and I had to be back by 6 for Willingtons birthday celebrations at Frankie and Benny's and bowling but before this we all went to the Science Museum which was most interesting. My favourite section was the Human Body which had a machine which made me 'Very male' by taking a picture and tweeking certain aspects of my face - hideous! We left at 4ish and arrived home safely at 5:30 - speedy! Had a lovely sleep on the way home to recharge my batteries and off we went out at 6. F&B's was delish, Calamari (again), BBQ Ribs and a Cinnamon Waffle - tasty! I've always been a bit hit and miss at bowling but I managed to win the first game with 127 points and trail behind in 3rd on the second game with 90. My finger is feeling poorly today, I am definitely not throwing it right, owie.

So basically I love the family so much and it was a joy to be away with them all, never fail for a good time! Here's to all the other times to be had with the little babies included :)

Z80, Currys and a load of crap

It's only bloody Friday and that can only mean one thing; London with the fam! Probably the last chance we'll all get to be away together before the little babies come. I'm excited for IMAX! Never been before and hopefully Tron is epic.

The last two nights i've been home alone! Although had company for the majority of it. Dawne D Dawn (New name) came over on Wednesday night and we took a trip to Sainsburys to purchase dinner. We ended up making fajitas, they were scrummy! Old El Paso crispy chicken fajitas, they must be new as I have never seen these badboys on the shelf before. I discovered Vampire diaries on Wednesday after flicking through TV Choice on Virgin, so now it's taken over my life and i've watched 13 episodes in 2 days at 45 minutes each....there has not been much sleep!

I used to love sky in all it's glory even though i'd never actually had it and I always felt really naff that we'd been stuck with Virgin/NTL or whatever. It has however up'd it's game significantly! I would definitely go so far as to say Virgin is actually better than sky. Not only can you record programmes (as you do on Sky) but it has TV On Demand where it will record stuff it thinks you'll like, it also has TV Choice, which just has a complete A-Z of various series to be watched for free at your own time. Sky do not have this, Sky Anytime is a poor excuse for TV Choice. All hail Virgin.

I have half day today in which I will be packing my last bits for London and getting a hair chop. So happy they managed to fit me in very short notice. Wahoo! :) Not really looking forward to the Train journey as it'll be freakin' choc a block with all the London busy bodies coming home from work. Not really looking forward to dropping millie dog off at Nanny's either cos I hate to leave her :( She slept on me for like 3 straight hours the other day and when I tried to pick her up she was so sleepy she was like a dead weight. She is the very very cutest! I love her more than some of the actual humans I know, haha!

My new Fujifilm Finepix Z80 camera came on Wednesday which was I VERY excited about. It has been a long a tiring struggle with Currys who are without doubt the most useless electrical company ever in the world. Here's the story -

May 2010 I bought a Pentax Optio H90 which was awesome, proper retro looking with a 5X optical zoom, i'm no camera expert but I liked this! Along with the camera I purchase a 3 year 'Instant Replacement' guarantee. Whilst on holiday in Turkey a few of the pixel's in the screen went funny so when I got home I took it back to Currys Digital and as they didn't sell them in that store they kindly rang up the airport store and asked them to send it down via courier. A little inconvenience but I came back 3 days later to pick it up. Sooooo, a few weeks later I turn it on to take some piccys and discover the exact same thing has happened, same pixels, same place, gone. So back I go to the shop to say "hey! mister, this camera has the same issue, please help!" I am now informed that they no longer sell this camera and I would have to pick a different one....so basically I have no idea what i'm looking at so they said I can go away, do some research and bring back the broken camera whenever I want to change it, after all I do have 3 years! I left it for around 4 months, took it back to Currys on Jan 2nd and found the gorgeous Finepix Z80! I go to exchange it but am informed that they don't actually have it in stock, bummer. I enquire as to when it will be back in stock and the answer I get is "We will get it back in stock but I don't know when" Employee of the year 2011. YEAH! Basically I was then forced to get my Dad involved (The dad of all dads) who picked me up last friday and we went straight to Currys. After me calling up Currys and asking them to send a camera from Eastleigh to Portsmouth apparently they don't do this anymore!? 'Not in our policy' is another thing i've heard. So anyway, we discover we can take it back in PC World as it's the same company, lightbulb goes on and since me and Jay were going to Chichester the next say for a meal and some shopping I got online and reserved the camera. Went into PC World just to check they had it reserved in Chichester, all was well on their system, hurrah I would finally have this broke one replaced with this perfect purple beast! The next morning I get a call at 9:45 "Hi i'm so and so from PC World Chichester, just calling ot tell you that unfortunately we don't have this camera in stock, must have been a system error" A SYSTEM ERROR. I am beyond fuming, so my Dad goes mental yet again and we are now demanding our money back. After a huge debacle at the Currys shop we got the money back but now I don't have a warranty...Dad assures me he is sorting this with a strongly worded letter to Currys. Watch this space!

They also offered to pay Dad's petrol money if he drove to Southampton and picked it up - er no!

We ordered it online and now I am the proud owner of this beauty:

Here's to a good weekend with a few snappy snaps! :)

Surfin' USA

I have often thought about moving over to wordpress or tumblr. I mean, I have a tumblr but it's really very empty and i'm just not feeling it. Blogspot is a little dead but then can I really leave after 3 years of typing crap? I think no is the answer. I shall unite alone with me, myself and I on this very blog.

Now that's sorted - I feel we must move on to the very pressing matter that is the tin of roses sitting next to my bed. It's as if they're there to taunt me. Whilst I am a fan of chocolate who's idea was it to put a whole tin of roses into my very capable of eating chocolate hands? Will the diet ever start?

I feel a bit guilty that I haven't really been to help Jay decorate his new house although I have mixed feelings on whether I should help or not. Imagine if I don't ever get to live there? I don't give to receive but still, all that hard work for nadda! That is probably one of the most selfish things i've ever said. Oh well, get over it. I am perfectly happy to help as long as it's not painting of scraping floors. I painted Zoey's room which I thought would be the most fun ever, turns out it was the least fun ever. I'll be quite happy to plug a kettle in when the time comes, that seems like a reasonable effort. Of course I am only half joking. (:/) If my help is required just call on me Jayboy!

It's London this weekend with the fam, very excited for Tron at the Imax, sceptical for The Sufi Restaurant ('London's answer to Shirins') and doubley excited for the spaghetti house restaurant, woo! Hoping to fit some shopping in again too! How could I not?

Trying very very hard to book a holiday to Florida, i'm bursting at the moment with the thought of Harry Potter world - Me? Sad? Never! I want to fly with virgin as they are oh so awesome, but do not like the hefty price tag :)

Time to be gone, bring on the weekend!

The big 2011

HAPPY NEW YEAR and all that gubbins.

My New Year was shoddy, really very shoddy. NYE I woke up feeling a little nauseous, it carried on throughout the day and I wretched so many times in the end I actually wanted something to come up alas having eaten nothing, nothing did. Felt rough as nuts all day NYE - managed to make it to Abby's as she was having a party. Stayed for about an hour, ate a slice of melba toast or two but then had to leave cos I really thought I was gonna hurl. Coupled with the dreaded D, I was not feeling great. Went back to Jays, and was asleep by 11. Jay prodded me at midnight to say Happy New Year but I really wasn't with it and don't really remember it happening to be honest, he says it did though so I believe him...just!

Felt rough all Saturday, Pompey got thrashed at Watford and Greg Halford got sent off. Bad day all round. Sunday I thought I was beginning to feel better however, half way round PC World started to feel dodgy again and had to have a 'sit down' like I had dodgy 80 year old hips or something. (I don't, thank God, yet.) I had eaten 1 crumpet all day and now didn't feel like anything again so basically my last properly meal had been Thursday night and it was stew! Whilst it's a good meal and it's not THAT bad i'm not particularly fond of it and for this to be my last memory of food was not making me happy. Sunday night in bed I felt like I was on a different planet, couldn't even talk properly I actually started to think there was something seriously wrong with me other than just a normal sickness bug. Monday progressed and I managed to go to football (Which was a waste of time, Hull, you bastards) and eat 2 slices of toast and half a marmite sandwich. If you're still reading after the depression that is the first two sections of this blog then you'll be pleased to know Jay and I went to Harvester on Tuesday to celebrate the fact I could eat again (hurrah!).

Even though New Year was crap, Christmas was actually really fab. Such a great time with the family and Jayboy. Spent Christmas Day at Abbys, after going to Jays to exchange our gifts. I got some rad presents, too many to mention (lucky me!) the best one of all though was a weekend away in London with the family next weekend! Sooooo excited. We're going to see Tron at the Imax and out for a couple of meals. Should be great! Plus I ordered new boots yesterday...yay! Love new things :)

Also i'd like you all to meet Baby Shawyer -

There's gonna be a baby Shawyer and a baby Bowley - Double Auntie Emily, yippee!

Surrounded by babies in June :)

Yesterday I went to Nandos and the movies with Dawn which couldn't have been more ridiculous if it tried. I queued up in Nando's to get the food, Dawn got the sauce and resumed her position at the table. I came back having ordered and she says "You may realise we only have 1 sauce", automatically I think somebody has taken it away, cos it was busy and there may not have been enough to go round. Then I realise there is a massive cone next to our table saying 'Caution wet floor'. Couldn't believe i'd missed her sitting by herself, knocking a glass bottle on the floor, nandos sauce all over the place. Brilliant. Well, it was brilliant until we got into the cinema and I ripped a 5 pound note in half. Standing by the ice cream waiting for my Ben and Jerrys I decide to pipe up and tell Dawn about how at Christmas, Jay has ripped a card open but ripped it sideways and ripped the £20 note in half. Me, thinking i'm clever and demonstrating with the fiver in my hand ACTUAL rip it in half. I really have no idea what I was thinking but the cashier was literally just standing there looking at me as if I was some retard. Which, in all fairness was correct at that precise moment. Dawn was just in absolute stitches whilst I stood there with two halves of a fiver. I gave it to the cashier in the hope she has cello tape. Luckily she excepted my poor excuse for money. On the plus side, the film was great (Love & Other Drugs) and Nandos was tasty as always.

I'm really looking forward to Saturday. Jay and I are training it to Chichester for a look round the shops, some pub stop offs and a meal at Smith & Western (Which looks amazing! Never been there).

Bring on the weekend :o)
