Dublin 2009

I say 2009, as I am likely to spend many more time in Dublin. It is SUCH a nice City and it's kinda cool to know my way around mostly now.

I've been doing so much stuff over the past weeks, seeing Simon a lot which is kind of strange because i've known him for years having worked a Pageone with him, but only recently started to talk more and more and hang out. Turns out it is becoming a regularity and last night we took a trip to the beach, sat around and talked. Then we drove to Hayling Island and had a drink over the Harbour watching the sunset. - What is this cheese I hear you say? Yeah well, not done anything like that before and it was like the mooovies, so hush. It was fairly romantic until some bloke in his boat shouted 'Oh fucking hell!' which made me crease, ruined the moment but totally worth it. It was nice to see him after i'd been away for the weekend :)

Friday I went to Dublin for Cag's Hen weekend! Oh my the Shenanigans we had. We had a nightmare journey where the airport pick up didn't turn up for over an hour, (much cider/beer was had whilst we waited which killed the pain tbh) then when we finally got to the apartments some bint on reception with the spazziest customer service i'd ever seen says there is a problem. Mum went a a bit mental and in the end calmed down and it was fine. Problem was solved and off we trot to our apartment IN THE BASEMENT. It was a lush apartment, but it was IN THE BASEMENT. Not acceptable to be fair. And they expected me to sleep with a mere blanket instead of a quilt. Are they mental?! Clearly. Changed uber quickly in my fame attire and off we went to a bar named buskers where we each had a shooter, a cocktail and we got to choose another cocktail and go behind the bar and make it ourselves! I had passionfruit mojito and it was heaven to be fair. Then I went behind the bar and made a Passionfruit Daquiri. I went on a bit of a mad passionfruit extravaganza but it was totally amazing. I think I could be professional cocktail maker* tbh. *That is the official term.

Went into another bar, Lizzie was the only smoker out of all of us so when we were all leaving she'd disappeared. Little Karen and I went to find her, finally found her and by the time we'd got outside everyone else had fucked off! So we met some random Irish fella's in the street who took us to the same cocktail bar we were in previously, got bought cocktails which was nice considering they were 10 Eur each! :-/ I don't even know how we managed it but we roamed the streets and got food and got in at 5am! I didn't think it was that late until I woke up at 10:45am due to the darkness of the basement and realise we were suppose to be at Guiness Factory at 10....tad late! Guiness factory was fun though, especially enjoyed the advertising bit. Went to lunch in a place called O'neill's (No not the pub chain) - which was nice. I had a humungous piece of fish and chunky chips, unhealthy but whatever. I then went wondering by myself, managed to get my phone working after it didn't work for the first day. Found an AMAZING shop called BT2's which has the best selection of Pauls Boutique bags i've ever seen. I could have happily died there. I wondered round some more shops, and then my feet really started to hurt like nobody's business so I walked back to the apartment to have a kip before outing number 2. I got shifted to the edge of my sofa bed mid sleep as Mum and Karen wanted to stick britains got talent on...was not happy about this as was asleep! BGT was immense though. Put my party dress on and we headed out. Walking a long way in heels is never a good plan, not sure why I even tried it. Had to swap shoes with Max when we got to the bar which was a GOD SEND! Had Passionfruit Martini (I think I tried everything passionfruit tbh, soooo good though!) and it was amazing! We danced in a club a bit like Tiger, but actual better. Haha. Got in about 1:30am, had a posh kebab, just. I was at the counter and they're going "Order 106" I'm there shouting "Hey, who is 106?!" Turns out it's me. Whoops. Sunday was Emily day, officially. Met up with Nev and we went to the Zoo. Dublin Zoo, looked amazing but in actual fact half the animals were missing/hiding. It was like the Sahara dessert in all fairness but still! Alas, we did see Giraffe's, Penguins, Cows, Donkeys, smallest horse in the world!, what looked like a mouflon but was actually a goat, a Rhino and some other weird ones. We sat in the park in some comfortable silence and soaked up the rays. I took off my shoes and it was a lovely, lovely afternoon. I walked along the wall by the river like a child, which was fun, ha! Nev and I will be going to see EitS in Sheffield in September, which i'm excited about as never seen them before and it can't be anything other than amazing. I will eat my own arm if it's crap. Okay, that would be stupid but you get my point.

Flight home was not bad, got home about 22:45, was in dire need of a foot spa as my feet were shreads tbh. Did that and then konked out. Realised today i've been driving without Car Tax, so tried to get Car Tax and my MOT has run out...so I also need MOT. I am so illegal, oopsy. Damo is fitting me in for MOT tomorrow. Phewph! My car is literally a heap of nugget though so will probably fail. I really need it to not fail because I have plans to go to sunnymead and watch the apprenctice....hmph!

Sleep calls, so I bid farewell. I just had to document this weekend of amazingness.

Caio.
