Z80, Currys and a load of crap

It's only bloody Friday and that can only mean one thing; London with the fam! Probably the last chance we'll all get to be away together before the little babies come. I'm excited for IMAX! Never been before and hopefully Tron is epic.

The last two nights i've been home alone! Although had company for the majority of it. Dawne D Dawn (New name) came over on Wednesday night and we took a trip to Sainsburys to purchase dinner. We ended up making fajitas, they were scrummy! Old El Paso crispy chicken fajitas, they must be new as I have never seen these badboys on the shelf before. I discovered Vampire diaries on Wednesday after flicking through TV Choice on Virgin, so now it's taken over my life and i've watched 13 episodes in 2 days at 45 minutes each....there has not been much sleep!

I used to love sky in all it's glory even though i'd never actually had it and I always felt really naff that we'd been stuck with Virgin/NTL or whatever. It has however up'd it's game significantly! I would definitely go so far as to say Virgin is actually better than sky. Not only can you record programmes (as you do on Sky) but it has TV On Demand where it will record stuff it thinks you'll like, it also has TV Choice, which just has a complete A-Z of various series to be watched for free at your own time. Sky do not have this, Sky Anytime is a poor excuse for TV Choice. All hail Virgin.

I have half day today in which I will be packing my last bits for London and getting a hair chop. So happy they managed to fit me in very short notice. Wahoo! :) Not really looking forward to the Train journey as it'll be freakin' choc a block with all the London busy bodies coming home from work. Not really looking forward to dropping millie dog off at Nanny's either cos I hate to leave her :( She slept on me for like 3 straight hours the other day and when I tried to pick her up she was so sleepy she was like a dead weight. She is the very very cutest! I love her more than some of the actual humans I know, haha!

My new Fujifilm Finepix Z80 camera came on Wednesday which was I VERY excited about. It has been a long a tiring struggle with Currys who are without doubt the most useless electrical company ever in the world. Here's the story -

May 2010 I bought a Pentax Optio H90 which was awesome, proper retro looking with a 5X optical zoom, i'm no camera expert but I liked this! Along with the camera I purchase a 3 year 'Instant Replacement' guarantee. Whilst on holiday in Turkey a few of the pixel's in the screen went funny so when I got home I took it back to Currys Digital and as they didn't sell them in that store they kindly rang up the airport store and asked them to send it down via courier. A little inconvenience but I came back 3 days later to pick it up. Sooooo, a few weeks later I turn it on to take some piccys and discover the exact same thing has happened, same pixels, same place, gone. So back I go to the shop to say "hey! mister, this camera has the same issue, please help!" I am now informed that they no longer sell this camera and I would have to pick a different one....so basically I have no idea what i'm looking at so they said I can go away, do some research and bring back the broken camera whenever I want to change it, after all I do have 3 years! I left it for around 4 months, took it back to Currys on Jan 2nd and found the gorgeous Finepix Z80! I go to exchange it but am informed that they don't actually have it in stock, bummer. I enquire as to when it will be back in stock and the answer I get is "We will get it back in stock but I don't know when" Employee of the year 2011. YEAH! Basically I was then forced to get my Dad involved (The dad of all dads) who picked me up last friday and we went straight to Currys. After me calling up Currys and asking them to send a camera from Eastleigh to Portsmouth apparently they don't do this anymore!? 'Not in our policy' is another thing i've heard. So anyway, we discover we can take it back in PC World as it's the same company, lightbulb goes on and since me and Jay were going to Chichester the next say for a meal and some shopping I got online and reserved the camera. Went into PC World just to check they had it reserved in Chichester, all was well on their system, hurrah I would finally have this broke one replaced with this perfect purple beast! The next morning I get a call at 9:45 "Hi i'm so and so from PC World Chichester, just calling ot tell you that unfortunately we don't have this camera in stock, must have been a system error" A SYSTEM ERROR. I am beyond fuming, so my Dad goes mental yet again and we are now demanding our money back. After a huge debacle at the Currys shop we got the money back but now I don't have a warranty...Dad assures me he is sorting this with a strongly worded letter to Currys. Watch this space!

They also offered to pay Dad's petrol money if he drove to Southampton and picked it up - er no!

We ordered it online and now I am the proud owner of this beauty:

Here's to a good weekend with a few snappy snaps! :)
