Scally wag

Tomorrow will be a joyous day indeed, I have the entire day off so tonight I shall stay up late and tomorrow I shall sleep in to around 11/12 noon. I'm getting excited thinking about it. That's a bit sad isn't it? Oh well, I haven't had a lay in, since oh I don't know...million years ago! I have to wait indoors tomorrow for decking that is being delivered for our back garden. Which means even if I wanted to go out I couldn't! I planned to go to Town to get a pretty dress that I have seen for my holibobs but looks like that is nay going to happen. It's orange with pretty outlines of flowers on it and I really want it! It's from Wallis too which makes me feel all grown up and cool.

Claire is in the process of complaining to Aqua Cars and writing to 'The News' about a complaint she has with Aqua's text facility that they have. This is where you order a taxi from your mobile phone, then when the car is approaching you they send you a text with what colour it is, what the number plate is and stuff. This can be quite helpful and I have been receiving this. I just found out that it costs me 30p per text! What a rip off. They don't inform you that it costs you this much every time which i'm fairly sure is illegal or something. Claire called them to ask to be taken off the text alert and they said okay, but didn't do anything! Bloody arseholes. I hope The News print a massive story about it and nobody uses Aqua Cars ever again! Although i'm blatantly going to cos I don't really care that much...

Saturday night Claire is coming over for chinese and drinks. We're going to discuss travel plans and watch trash on TV. I have been invited to Prague to stay with Zora's friends since Claire is going to be staying there anyway for a few days. We're then going to be getting the train up to Bratislava to see my sister which will be so much fun. If I decide to go (or rather manage my money rather well so I can go) I am going to get the coach there. Zora hates flying so she gets the coach everytime, I think this is mad because it takes 20 hrs but it's £59 return. Plus I think it would be quite nice to go through the different countries and see some wickedfabtastic sites. I've been trying to find out how much it will cost to get the train to Bratislava from Prague but I can't find fare prices anywhere, gargh! You can get the Coach to Bratislava but that is 25 hours. I'm not sure I could do that. Zora gave me a good website to check out www.studentagency.cz but it's all in czech and there is no option for English. I'll have to ask her to translate!

I don't know what to have for lunch, I really want subway but it's so impratical to eat. I think I might go down to the shop, get a good magazine, get a subway, eat it in the staff room and be all jolly. Oh the sweet goodness of the Steak and Cheese. Not the healthiest but I have been very good at home and i'm fairly sure this would be in my range of points today. I have started eating breakfast in the mornings too, i'm sure this is doing me good. A nice bowl of crunchy nut shredded wheat, yum yum.

Have YOU been watching hollyoaks!? I can't help but think it's the best thing on TV. Along with Hustle (which is on tonight BBC1 9pm, watch it), Scrubs and a select few others. What will become of Josh Ashworth? I hope he doesn't get sent to a young offenders whatnot or anything. I quite like him really and Mr Barnes is a mean old man. These things never go away in soaps once they have lied, lies always get out! Russ is blatantly going to get it on with Danni as she is coming back this week leaving Mercedes in the gutter where she probably should be since she cheated on him a lot and when is Sonny coming back? When is John Paul and Craig going to admit their relationship to the world and become proud lovers? Hurry up already! (Oh and Zoe and Zack should obviously get together)

Back to real life.

Cartoon much?

The debate between Facebook and Myspace is ongoing. I have solved this problem by having an account on each but it sppears Facebook is taking me over rather rapidly. However, one special thing on myspace is Emeline's profile picture which is Whybird from Playdays. This inspired me greatly to go back and think of old programmes I used to watch. I love a bit of nostalgia I do, and being only 20 (almost) I haven't had the chance to have much of it.

Playdays was one of my favourites, whybird especially was amazing. Her partnership with Simon was incredibly and her voice was clearly like Heaven "Oh siimoonn!" I love how the only letter on her computer keyboard she would press was 'P' and she'd have to bend down to press it with her beak. Emeline has pointed out to me that whybird has possiby the longest neck for a bird and her wings start near her wouldbe waist...This picture also includes Poppy and Peggy Patch but it was ALL about whybird.
I don't remember a great deal about Carebears but I know I liked them enough to have the video's. Looking at the pictures of it on google it looks rather like it's a show for stoned hippies. Coloured bears floating on clouds n'all. Emeline says she is never going to talk to me again because I liked Carebears but screw that, they were obviously cool!

My Brother and I used to watch this together which is far more acceptable for me because he is the best part of 6 years older than me. The scary tower that Count Duckula lived in was all creepy and they'd play very apt organ music whenever it was on. I can't quite remember the theme tune but i'm adamant that is was something good.

Sooty and Sweep & Co were my favourite thing that wasn't cartoon. I had some of their videos and loved when they thought that they had a burglar but in actual fact it was sweep sleeping walking. They all had teeny tiny beds and they all wore pajamas with little sleeping hats with the bobbles on the ends. Sue was also great. "My name is SUE!" I can't remember who that little shit on the end is but I think his name was 'buster' or something but he was naughty and wasn't in it very much. Matthew looked after them very well then he got replaced by some arse.

One thing I love about The Jetsons is their doors, which weren't actually doors - rather tubes which you stand in and it transports you out of the building. So many cars flew around in the air it's a wonder there was never any crashes. Judy was my favourite obviously, wasn't she everyones? I wish I had a robot maid. Actually I just wish I had a maid. A robot would have been cool though.

Wacky Races was very cool because it didn't last mega long for you to get bored and fall asleep but it was a sufficient to keep you entertained for an acceptable amount of time. Penelope Pitstop was so suave, with a mirror that extended along with a LIPSTICK! She'd be putting on her make up whilst going along. Nothing beats that really.

Other shows I loved:

Lids

My eyelids clearly have about 5 bricks upon them. I'm so tired i don't know what to do what myself, I hate feeling like this. I know when I get home tonight I won't feel immensely tired like I do now but right now I want to curl up on the floor or better yet - my bed and sleep for eternity. That wouldn't be so bad.

This lady looks so comfortable it is almost making me cry a little bit inside. she looks like she might be in some exotic country outside too. Lucky bitch.

Tonight I shall watch 'how to look good naked' and 'The F Word' then I am going straight to bed. Getting up at 6.15am everyday is killing me. I thought I was handly well but it appears that I am not. I got up at 6.20 this morning, turn the bath on and then set my alarm for 6.30 and got a precious 7 mins more sleep. It was totally worth it though, I have to say.

Derby made it into the Premiership yesterday, congrats to them. I was hoping it would be them, to have a slight change to the premiership. To be honest I think they will probably go straight back down, they manager is contemplating leaving because he says the club doesn't treat the players all that well and to be able to stay up you need to bring in some decent players. I think Sunderland will do okay because Roy Keane's got it going on, he's got skills and this time around they shouldn't be breaking any records for the lowest amount of points accumulated in a season or whatever it was. As for birmingham not entirely sure how they will do. Hopefully they will go down too Muhah!
I remember when we won the championship, probably the most exciting feeling i've ever felt. I never in a million years thought Pompey would win anything, let alone have spend 4 seasons in the Premiership by now! how bizarre. Todorov launched himself into the crowd and got booked, hahah. Something that will stick with me forever, was such a great experience. Here's hoping we can win something else soon.

Creating memories

I can't help but think that my blog lay out is a bit boring. However, since i'm such a computer whizz-not there isn't much I can do about this. I might see if I can play around with some stuff later and try to teach myself how to make it look rad cool. Watch this space losers.

So last night was pretty much one of the best ones i've ever had in my life. My family including me, seeing The Jam (well, almost). I suppose I didn't really think too much about it before I got there then I realised I was actually seeing 2 of the original members of The Jam. I also realised it was the closest I would ever come to seeing them together. Weller is almost certainly never going to reform with The Jam which, is quite sad but he did say that he would only do it if his children were in turmoil and he needed the money. Here's hoping they become bankrupt. It was truly amazing though and I admire anyone who has to fill Weller's shoes. The man in question did a marvellous job and they were all superb. Singing 'Tube Station' in the front row with my Dad's arm around me will stick with me forever. I feel like I sort of witnessed a piece of history. My Dad went to see them over 10 times in 1982 and I wasn't even in existance then, how weird. Shall definitely be going to see them in either Southampton or Brighton in Nov/Dec. They played 'Sad about us' and I thought my Dad was going to break down in tears, he said in all the years he'd seen them he'd never seen them do that live. I guess that was quite special for him. Music brings people together and I love it. I must make a concerted effort to go to more gigs this year and to see new bands. I'm a bit worried about going to see New Young Pony Club on 7th June purely because (selfish Emily coming out now..) Claire and her now ex-boyfriend bought me a ticket to cheer me up from the sadness that was the end of my relationship, but now the tables have turned, i'm all jolly jolly and she's now single again! So...will she still want to go to the gig with me? I bloody hope so, I don't want to go alone. Although if she really doesn't want to go I would go on my own, heck it'll be fun. Party with the nu-rave kiddddds!

Oh dear. I have just come across someone that took a message for "Papa johns" but has put "Papa Jones" how wrong they are. It's like a fortress and I will miss it greatly since I don't know about any Papa johns that is near me. By God they do the best Kentucky BBQ pizza on the face of the Earth.

I need to plan out my ways of getting Papa Johns at any available opportunity. Wagas is already set for 16th June, Papa's shall be done on 1st of July clearly! Me and my devious ways. Muahaha. I don't think there will be any complaints to be honest. I love how a few of my blogs have been about food or have some sort of food content in them...it's a wonder i'm not 20 stone.

Jana is a lady who works at The Listening Co and I have only really spoken to her for the first time today because she does the occasional shift at Pageone. I thought she seems like such a lovely woman and she proved this by going to the shop on her break, and coming back with a Kinder Happy Hippo for me and leaving it on my desk. She has now won gold in the 'Race to impress Emily' competition.

My 'Hairdresser' (I use this term loosely because she has only cut my hair about 3 times and she is more infact just my sister's friend) has just had her baby. She had a little boy. I haven't seen him yet but they named him 'Alby Lee Eric Ellis'. Now, hoping she isn't going to read this (If you do I think you're a wonderful lady and you cut my hair right nice and fine) not th emost amazing choice on names. I mean Alby I suppose is alright cos it's like Arnie or Archie or I don't know, - Alfie or something. But I'm guessing it's short for Albert which is quite frankly for an old man. I suppose that is a good job since it's not my baby. Eric is her late Grandfather's name, and Lee is her Husbands middle name. All very well and meaningful I suppose.

I am doing diddly squat this week except watching obvious programmes and listening to some cool as hell music. Hit me up if you want to (as Britney Spear's would put it) DO SOMETHIN'.

Bye bye bye bye bye for today.

Jammin'

Tonight shall be wonderful, which will go with the rest of my weekend. When I heard The Jam had reformed I got so excited and thought back to when my Dad has gone to see them 10 times in their last year together and wished i'd been alive to go with him. Then I found out it was only the drummer and bassist who had got back together and was less thrilled. However, Calum went to see them on the Isle Of Wight a couple of weeks ago and said they were really great so I am looking forward to it so much! Especially since I stopped going when the bigmassiveknob of a pervert started chattin gme up at "Jamm" gigs. Eurgh.

I went to the Red Lion last night with Kate, Iain, Luke and Carl and Carl's girlfriend who I think was called Rachel but I really can't remember. She was very nice, and Carl is very nice although his hair has gone off on one. It is a wonder how he can see, it really is. Luke and his argued like little school children but it was quite amusing. They all gave me comforting hugs over my break up with Dave but I realised i'm pretty much over being sad now. Of course it's a bit sticky to think back to the good times we had but it's more fond memories than being sad now, yay! The creeper owner bought Kate and Me a drink, mainly cos he fancies Kate and also because he wants her to work there during the summer. Kate says she over heard him talking about getting someone killed once! I was slightly afraid he had put something nasty in my drink!

I really forgot how nice my old school friends are. They're always interested in what i'm doing and what i've been up to even though I only see them once every few months. It's a shame I am broke otherwise I would have gone to Wetherspoons with them. As it was they cropped me home on their way down to Southsea in a taxi because it started to rain and my plan to walk home was shot to pieces. I then got home and had a rather unexpected good time. Took my Mother's laptop upstairs and webcammed to Jim, we then discovered I could talk to him through the computer and I could hear what he was playing on his computer. This was rather amazing so he played a proper live DJ set for me hahaha it was so good! It was like a small party for one in my room. Who needs a club?!

Then I eventually went to sleep at about 1.30am which was way past my bed time for being up at 6.45 for going to work, starting at 7.30am. but I didn't really care cos i'm a work now and it's not all that bad. Although certain things have pissed me off a treat this morning. Here is the list of people/arseholes we have to put up with. (Luckily none of them have come through to me so I haven't had to kill anyone yet)

# Some idiot who comes through and just starts given us abuse. Charlene says "Can I take your message?" his reply is "that isn't what you're suppose to be asking me" - Yes it is you imbecile. Then he starts going on telling us we're not doing our job properly. He also talks at a gazillion miles an hour. (I mean I know I talk fast but this guy is completely understandable)

# A man stuck in a lift. We can't get anyone to contact him because he doesn't have a telephone on him. He says he doesn't know the number he's calling from it just a phone in a lift. emeline politely explains that there is not much we can do. And He's like "Well i'm going to be dead in 15 minutes" OH DEAR. What a shame that would be. As If you're going to be dead. It's a lift, not a gas chamber. I bet he still in there. Gutted.

I don't want to work here anymore. Someone magic a job out of thin air for me please.

I am looking forward to tonight and I am also looking forward to going to Marks and Spencers on my lunch to get a tasty sandwich. I have to say Guy talking about japanese food yesterday has really mad me want Wagamamas. this has now become a problem because none of my friends like Japanese food therefore will not go with me, I suppose they have those tables for one but i'd rather go with somebody to be honest. Obviously Dave and I will not be going as often as we did or at all, but I might try and drag him to Waga's when we go to Wembley to See Muse on the 16th. Hopefully he will not resist and we'll go and have a jolly old ramen and maybe some of those dumpling things he was talking about. Yummmmmmm.

Happy Birthday to Star Wars too, even though I am only a recent fan, I am a damn fan and its amazing. Someone buy me the deevs please.

"If I could cheat I would skip to the end,
Decide if it's worth going through with,
Before we start Is it a happy ending or a broken heart,
Happy ending or a broken heart?"

Futureheads - Skip to the End.

So, I saw Pirates of the Caribbean: At worlds End last night. It was positively superb. So long it needed and intermission but I feel if you left any of the bits out it wouldn't have been so good, everything was needed! I would like to have Orlando Bloom's babies. IF not his then Johnny Depp's will do.

I'm gwan to the pub tonight for a few drinks but I got work at 7.30 which is never good but i'm seeing The Jam tomorrow night! Minus Paul Wellar but it is sure to be immense. I can't wait! This weekend has been great so far, stayed at Claire's last night and we had a rather nice chat ebfore we went to sleep, I was a little worried I kept talking when she wanted to go to sleep eek, but we had a lovely time Hah.

This blog is going to be mega short cos well Jim is making me a mix out of the goodness of his heart and I need to restart the computer cos my MSN just went mental and now won't let me log in. Love love love love.

Festival favourites.

It's a sunny day and i've decided I love Radio 1. So much new music is getting played and it's making me happy. Here are some of my summer reccommendations:

The Cribs - From Wakefield, their new album is called 'Man's needs, women's needs, whatever' and i've only heard 'Man's needs' but it's such a catchy tune. Me and my Mother caught them on Jool's Holland the other day and they didn't sound amazing live, but on record it's great so they're worth checking out at festivals this summer.
The Holloways - From North London, Generator is an awesome song! Not sure what their album is called but they have some sure fire summery tunes, you can find them on myspace. www.myspace.com/theholloways
(Hmm, I can't seem to work out how to put other picture in this place so you'll have to glare at the Cribs for a while.)
Klaxons - Clearly going to be a festival favourite this year putting out Gravity's Rainbow and Golden Skans, can't wait! www.myspace.com/klaxons
Enter Shikari - Small plug for them cos they're such nice boys and they were on the radio today hurrah! Johnny Sniper from Take to the skie is out soon and they're play Reading/Leeds, Download and Wales first major music festival! - 'Fflam' - (at least that is what it looks like it says...)
The Enemy - My Parents are going to see these and I'm rather jealous as it is now sold out. 'Had Enough' is out on 25th June and they also have that one that goes "awayohawayoh oh oh away from hereeee' which I quite like. www.myspace.com/theenemycoventry They're supported my Lethal bizzle on the Astoria date 20th June.
There are many more so i'm bound to do another blog like this but for now this is all.
I'm so sleepy I think I might just slump over on my desk. Bleurghgfdbvdjka.

Oh the SUN.

It is of course wednesday. The day of the Champions League final. COME ON LIVERPOOL! I want it to be nail biting, seat edging, finger grinding GOODNESS! I bet it rubbish though. Poop.
I have dsicovered the Holloways - Generator and it's well a fun tune which ticks all my summer boxes, go and listen. www.myspace.com/theholloways

I am going to Walkabout shortly for some tasty food. Val says she is shitting herself, bless her cottons.

I have been shopping today and have spent money I don't have. Literally in my overdraft now. Bugger. I bought a lovely linen skirt and a really ace green shirt and some white shoes. Summer is here! Hooray!

On a downer I can't find any bikinis whatsoever to look good on me. I actually found a suitable top today and but the bottoms were hideous. I have lost a stone yet still don't feel particularly good. This means I have to lose more. It's so HARD! Gah. I like me with clothes on, and even naked but with a bikini on, ewww.

Lasting note - good luck to all with exams around these times, I'm so glad I don't have any!

Greatest moments

Yesterday I caught up on 'Lost' since i've missed a ton of episodes and I ended up watching it for 3 hours and before i knew it, it was 10.30pm. This show really does blow my mind. It makes me think too much which is definitely not a good thing, I think too much as it is but it's so addictive.

On the latest episode Charlie makes a list of the 5 greatest moments of his life. Now I don't think I could narrow down 5 greatest moment in my life but I am going to try and create a list of the 5 greatest days/nights of my life because i've had to many and it would be a good challenge for me to narrow down 5. I'm not sure what good this will do, but I think reminiscing is really fun and there's a chance I might remember some things I had previously forgotten!

There are more than 5 so here is a short list of the ones that come straight to my head. I know there is a ton more but these are some good ones.

#12th March 2003 Went to see something corporate at the wedgewood rooms in portsmouth and even though it wasn't an awesome gig I actually texted Dave to ask if we should now be official boyfriend/girlfriend. Can you believe he made me wait until the morning until he replied with yes? Bloody bugger.

#The Christmas when my Dad gave me an envelope which contained 2 tickets to the FA Cup 4th round between Portsmouth and Manchester United. I actually cried because I was so surprised/happy.

#The first time Dave came to visit me I had been to see Portsmouth play at Fratton Park and had been excited by his arrival all day. then he tells me he's got the wrong train and we ended up having to get a lift to ' The Air Balloon' cos he was so late and I spent the night scared stiff because it was the first time we'd met having actually been together. I truly wouldn't have wanted it to have been any different. This led me to 4 years of such a wonderful time. Never regret anything.

#Going to see Stereophonics supported by Feeder at Wembley Arena in 2001. My first Arena gig, absolutely blew me away. The whole day was fantastic. At the time I had the greatest best friend anyone could ask for, her brothers took me and her out in London took us to the cinema, bowling, pizza hut and then topped the day off with Stereophonics at Wembley. I sang my heart out at every single tune (back then they didn't have any bad ones, ha!) I would give my left arm to re-live this moment again.

#My 13th Birthday when my parents took me to london for the first time. I remember going into Gap (which I thought was a massively cool designer shop) and picking out some bright pink capri pants (which would co-incidently now go in with the 'rave' scene rather well). Anyway, they were the coolest things i'd ever seen and it made me the happiest girl alive to carry around a 'GAP' bag all day. We then went to the Trochedero (right spelling?) and I couldn't believe my eyes! It was massive and I saw those dance machines for the first time and thought it was incredible. I was too scared to have a go though incase anybody laughed at me.

#The day me and Dave went to Harrods and literally looked in every part of the shop. I especially liked the furniture bit I swear we sat on every couch there. My feet hurt so much at the end of it, I could have really done with going to hospital, really, maybe not, yeah.

#Isle of Wight Festival in 2006 with my family. All the people I loved were in the same place watching good bands in the sunshine. It couldn't have got any better. My hat was the best and the tent with the pizza we discovered was amazing, fresh pizza!

#Christmas when I was very small and my Uncle Gary bought me a Mr. Frosty. I loved it SO much. I'd wanted one for so long. Then after I had used it too much, I got bored and decided to put rolo's in it. Needless to say, it broke and that was the end of Mr. Frosty. A very sad day.

THE F WORD TONIGHT. I think I love it a bit too much.

Ciao.

Monday bloody Monday.

So, my Dad has been sending me these 'words of wisdom' to give me a bit of perspective and cheer me up and up until today I haven't really been taking a lot of interest in them. Today's was very interesting and I think I may actually take what it says on board. I think I should make a concerted effort to at least find something to laugh about everyday otherwise i'm just going to end up falling into a deep hole and never going to be able to find my way out.

"Now, if you've ever spent much time around a truly happy person, you may have noticed that their mood comes not from what's going on around them, but from what's going on inside them. They have a way of looking at life that doesn't ignore the negative things but doesn't focus on them, either.

Instead, they give the lion's share of their attention to finding things to enjoy and appreciate. They have no trouble finding them, either. Every day, no matter where they are or what they're doing, they find things to laugh about, to celebrate, and to praise.
You know, it's an interesting fact of life that what you see is mostly what you look for.
Our brains are designed to help us notice that which we have decided is important, and ignore or even blind ourselves to that which is irrelevant.

So if you make up your mind to be happy no matter what happens to you, you'll be amazed by all the things you never noticed before that bring you a smile or a laugh or a moment of joy. Most happy people weren't born that way. At some point, they made a conscious or unconscious choice to enjoy their lives, right here and right now. What do you suppose would happen if you made the same choice, starting today?"

Obviously people have days where they're not happy and if something particularly traumatic has happened there won't be a stage where you laugh about something or at least smile but looking back to a few weeks ago when I thought life was never going to feel normal again I don't think there was a day that went by where even though the majority was crying, I didn't at least smile about something.

I am going to stop being all philosophical and start being regular Emily again now. It's 09.42 which is far to early to be writing a blog for today but I just couldn't help myself since there isn't much else to do and I was a bit inspired by the e-mail my dear old Dad sent me.

Tonight I plan to do nothing but tomorrow The F word is on and i'm really starting to love Gordon Ramsay. I know a lot of people seem to dislike him and I completely understand why but he's so entertaining. I like the celebrity cook off challenge that have, the look on his face when ronnie corbitt won, haha priceless.
Wednesday night is Champions League final! I doubt it will beat the last time thet Liverpool met AC Milan in the final but I do hope it will be exciting. Damn sight more entertaining than The FA Cup final anyway. I shall be going on down to Walkabout with my Mummy and Val, let's hope Val doesn't fall asleep and miss the entire thing this time.

Almost 10am this means it is my break soon. Excellent news.

Goodbye.

I feel a bit naughty

Since Dave stole this wonderful idea from Tom I am technically stealing it from Dave but ssh. Don't tell. I always liked writing a blog in myspace but I like the idea of having a place primarily for writing a blog and as much as I like Myspace, it's just not the place.

I am currently at work and I really seriously hate this job. If it wasn't for the fact I would be actually broke if I didn't have this as a job I would certainly quit. I have applied for a new job at HMS Nelson which closed for applicants today so I hope they will be contacting me this week. I might look at Portsmouth Uni for administration jobs too because one of my Mothers friends said they are very good. I can't wait to have a proper salary and the prospect of moving out excites me so much I may wee.

I got up at 11.30 today, probably the longest lay in i've had in many months, I just can't seem to sleep past like 9am these days. It was truly wonderful! I eventually got up and got dressed and went to work for 5pm and I have my new trainers on. I am so upset to say that I think they're too small. I had to get a 4 because they didn't have a 5 and my feet hurt slightly very much. They look good, that is the most important thing, hah.

I have been listening to Radio 1 for the last 3 hours and it has been diverting my attention with the big weekend and they said they would show stereophonics shortly but I just discovered shipwrecked was on and although I haven't been watching the whole series it's becoming exciting. I think if I was on there i'd be a tiger, the sharks seem a bit high and mighty. Tigers are super cool man.

This is the end of my first blog. I do hope you have enjoyed it.
